Electrically insulative potting epoxy resin

E-700/H-190 is a general-purpose epoxy potting compound. It is designed as a two-component epoxy resin system, suitable for potting of power supplies, transformers, and other electrical/electronic components. When the epoxy adhesive is potted in an electronic product and cured, it will wrap the electronic product in a solid compound, providing a barrier to protect the product from moisture, vibration, heat or physical shock, and general contamination. It will also improve the insulation resistance and mechanical strength of the applied products. It is cost-effective to use this epoxy resin to protect your products. The epoxy potting compound has a relatively low viscosity and is pourable. This AB part epoxy resin and hardener can be cured at room temperature or heated in an oven to speed up the curing time. Versatile colors like transparent clear, black, or white are available as requested.

What is potting in electronics?	In electronics, potting refers to the process of fully encasing an electronic component in a mold, or “pot,” with a gelatinous compound, such as epoxy. This process is commonly used with high-voltage assemblies, such as transformers and switchboards, to permanently protect the assembly from shock, vibration, corrosive agents, moisture, and water.
How do I use potting and encapsulating compounds on electronics?	Step 1: Gather all necessary tools, including mixing cups, a metal or plastic stir, protective gloves, potting compound, breathing apparatus or respirator. Step 2: Weigh out part A and B into separate clean plastic containers and pour into a third mixing container. Stir with a metal or plastic stirring utensil. Step 3: Pour the mixed potting compound into a second mixing cup and mix again to ensure the chemicals are fully mixed. Step 4: Slowly pour your potting compound into your electrical components. The product will self leveling on its own which will help prevent air bubbles. Step 5: Cure your epoxy resin circuit board potting compound at ambient temperature or in the oven to speed up curing time.
What happens if you add too much hardener to epoxy?	Adding too much of either resin or hardener will alter the chemical reaction and the mixture will not cure properly.
